Good Afternoon Families,

Report Cards and Parent-Teacher Interviews took place last week. Hopefully you had an opportunity to talk to your child(ren)’s teacher(s) about their progress in academic, social, and emotional development and learn about their strengths, interests, and next steps.

• We do our best to send children outside whenever possible to give them a break from the classroom and to provide time for them to run and play. Our weather conditions can change dramatically from morning to afternoon, so students should come prepared for these changes. Please help your child/children dress appropriately with suitable footwear/outerwear. If your child is prone to getting wet, a change of pants in the backpack might also be a good idea, especially for younger students. Arriving to school with properly clothing, especially boots, jackets, mittens/gloves, and hats will help students stay warm.

• There is a group in our community offering to provide Christmas Dinners to families in need once again this year. Please email jhurley@hrce.ca or call the school at 464-5184 to speak with me. Your name and information will be kept private.  They also appreciate donations for this wonderful cause. If you would like to donate, please email or phone the school.  

• As mentioned in my weekly Family Forecast last week, we are holding a school-wide pancake lunch on Monday, December 20th. We are asking parents/guardians to complete an online permission form for students. Please click on the link
https://forms.gle/V2jvWcq1nifaud3z9 to fill in the permission form. Make sure that you complete all sections. If your child has any allergies or dietary concerns, please specify this on the form.

• We continue to have many students come to the office looking for water bottles. Please send in a reusable water bottle with your child.

• Subway lunch takes place on Monday and Little Caesar’s on Wednesday.
